Electromagnetic Micro Deburring and Surface Polishing For Machined Parts
The Cryogenic Institute of New England, Inc. provides removal of burrs from machining operations as a service to our customers. The process we utilize is called electromagnetic micro deburring and it is our newest service offering. We have processed millions of individual parts and thousands of designs since we first started offering our cryogenic deburring service in 2003. Electromagnetic micro deburring is an extension of that service to better serve our customers with metal, steel, and parts. This process can also be used for surface polishing. Electromagnetic Micro Deburring & Surface Polishing protects the integrity of your parts: Electromagnetic micro deburring is a quick and cost-effective process that allows for the complete removal of machine burrs without affecting the surface finish or geometry of the part. However, the machine can be used for surface polishing. Electromagnetic micro deburring is a safe, clean, and cost effective alternative to traditional hand, vibratory or tumbling methods. Parts are placed in a well in the machine, along with polishing fluid and the stainless steel media. A powerful magnetic field is created when the machine is turned on. The magnetic field causes the media to bounce off of your parts over a certain period of time to accomplish deburring. Only the offensive burrs are removed, and edges are maintained without rounding or removing other material.
Electromagnetic Micro Deburring & Surface Polishing works for many materials: Our deburring process works well on parts machined from Aluminum, Stainless Steels, Steel, Gold, Alloy, Pewter, Iron, Zinc, Silver, Brass, Titanium, Tungsten Carbide and Copper. It is ideal for parts machined for the medical, automotive, and aerospace industries. The process is computer controlled, so results are repeatable and reliable.
Electromagnetic Micro Deburring & Surface Polishing is an economical and high quality alternative: The cost to electromagnetically micro deburr parts can range from less than .01 cent to several dollars apiece. As a general rule of thumb, the cost is between 10% and 20% of the value of the part, although each part must be considered on its individual characteristics. We always beat labor-intensive manual or hand deburring of parts by a handsome margin. This is true not only in terms of cost per part processed, but also in quality! Our automated process produces consistent part-to-part results, unlike variations produced by individual operators attempting hand deburring. (And no need to worry about cut fingers that drive up lost time and workers compensation expenses.)
Electromagnetic Micro Deburring & Surface Polishing removes recessed burrs in blind and through holes. Because we use a range of stainless steel media that is sized from 0.2mm x 5mm(smallest) to 1.2mm x 5mm(largest), we are able to reach “inside” most small holes and crevices.
No deburring job is too large or small: We support prototype shops that are working with small quantities as well as high volume production quantities. Part sizes vary from 0.025” with thin walls to much larger parts that measure in many inches and have much more mass.
Send us your samples: We are happy to provide a no-cost or obligation assessment of your machine burr problem. We can review part drawings, photos and actual samples of machined parts. We are happy to evaluate parts on a not-to-exceed cost basis if you have a target cost in mind. And we are always happy to talk with you on the phone when you call 800 739 7949 toll free or 508 459 7447 or you can e-mail us at info@nitrofreeze.com.
