Cryogenic treatment for gun barrels reduces residual stresses in the metal for faster velocity and tighter, more consistent groupings. This article describes four firearms experiments with before-and-after data for a Ruger Mini-16 Ranch Rifle, P320 Compact, P320 XFive, and two AR-15 barrels.
